This project is an exploration of a typographic system rooted in the transition between the Medieval and Renaissance eras. By integrating classic typefaces that echo the ornate and mystical qualities of the past, this UNO collection of cards serves as both a historical tribute and a modern design experiment.

The goal was to move beyond simple aesthetics and capture the intellectual curiosity and cultural refinement of these periods through deliberate letterform selection, texture and patterns,

The final typographic system doesn’t just replicate old styles; it reinterprets them. By treating letterforms as vessels of cultural heritage, the project highlights typography’s enduring role in reflecting the spirit of an age.

Departing from traditional gold and deep crimson, this system utilizes a "simple-yet-refined" pastel scheme:

Antique Beige: Mimicking aged parchment and raw linen.

Sage Green: Representing the era’s herbalism and botanical gardens.

Dusty Pink: Inspired by the soft pigments used in Renaissance frescoes and floral motifs.

The typography serves as a vessel for the wisdom of the age. Each card features quotes and philosophical phases from Leonardo da Vinci and other Renaissance visionaries, grounding the decorative elements in historical intellectualism.
