This series explores the visual dialogue between the Spanish Colonial architecture of Balboa Park and the intricate natural elements that frame it. This project treats the park as a single, unified blueprint where stone and stem share the same language of symmetry. The photography finds its rhythm in the repetition of form: the rhythmic arc of water from a fountain, the cascading geometry of string lights against a deepening sky, and the sharp silhouettes of palms against the fading "golden hour." By juxtaposing the rigid, ornamental lace of the buildings with the organic, repeating patterns of the flora, the work highlights a quiet, grand symmetry. The lens seeks out the "lines of force" that hold the park together, proving that the most sophisticated designs are often a collaboration between the engineered and the living.
